THINGS NOT TO DO ON THE INTERNET

  1. Checking the "keep me signed in" box while on a public PC. If you have to sign in to your account while on a public PC, make sure to "sign off" when you are done. Be careful with your work computer. If you in an office environment, someone could get into your accounts while you are away from your desk. Delete your browsing history after using public computers to ensure privacy.
  2. Failing to update Adobe Flash or Reader or Java. Lots of internet bugs come through these programs.
  3. Searching or downloading the following  items: porn, copyrighted videos/movies, copyrighted music. Sites like iTunes, Amazon and Hulu are safe.
  4. Using the same password for every online account. Distinguish between your bank website and your login for social sites.
  5. Clicking on links for a free iPad, Playstation 3, etc. These typically are phishing sites and will ask for personal information.
